SCOTTSDALE REAL ESTATE COMPANY IMPLEMENTS CUTTING EDGE
TECHNOLOGY IN IT’S REAL ESTATE MARKETING.

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA, NOVEMBER, 15, 2010  -  Ventana Fine Properties of Scottsdale will be implementing “QR-codes” into their Property Signs and marketing materials. “QR codes” stand for “Quick Response”. They are 2 dimensional bar codes ( versus the 1 dimensional UPC codes ) and they are readable on many of today’s smart phones with the download of the proper free software.
The QR codes can store information as simple as the Ventana Fine Properties website, office address, or a Realtor’s name & phone number or even the basic information about a property such as number bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage and price. Once a cell phone photographs, scans & reads a QR code it can immediately connect customers to a website or an online video to convey the information you want them to see.
For your cell phone to be able to read QR Codes you will need to have QR Code bar code reading software installed on it. There are many websites that offer the option of downloading via PC and then transferring to your phone, or visiting with your with your smart phone via browser for direct download and installation. You can download both “QR” bar code Creators and Readers. One such company is www.qrstuff.com.
The technical specifications for a QR Code are set down in the ISO-18004 standard so they are the same all over the world. Some things to consider when creating your bar codes; the largest standard QR Code is a Version 40 symbol that has 177x177 modules in size and can hold up to 4296 characters of alphanumeric data (theoretically) compared to 25 characters for a Version 1 QR Code.
With today's current cell phone cameras it is best to stick to a Version 5 or lower with the actual code symbol at least 2 cm ( .85 inches across)  or larger. Ventana Fine properties will be implementing its “QR” symbols on property signs at least 3 - 6 inches in size so they can be easily photographed from a short distance.
QR codes have been big in Japan for years and introduced into Europe a while back. The US Postal Service has been using it for a few years and finally launched a full service Bar code program last fall. They have already processed 28 billion pieces of mail with it over the past year.
QR codes will probably be a cell phone novelty for the immediate future but will soon become a sophisticated marketing tool for the future with the explosive growth of today's smart phones. Ventana Fine Properties is one of many companies that likes to remain on the cutting edge of  today’s technologies while constantly searching for innovative  marketing solutions to offer to its real estate customers .
